Beginning this spring, we will begin airing "Spotlight" an Independent (Indie) music and interview show on The "B". Producer Celeste Zugec is looking forward to highlighting music from "indie" artists across Canada and showcasing the talents of the many independent artists that reside in our own backyard.
Celeste & her husband Chuck live in Palgrave, Ontario, where they have a rich and full family life with their two grown, married children and six grandchildren.
Music has always played a significant role in Celeste's life. In the 1970’s she held a position with Capitol Records-EMI of Canada as its National Press & Publicity Manager. In that capacity she worked with Canadian and international artists on all the labels distributed by Capitol Records at that time including such notables as Bob Seger, Steve Miller, Dr. Hook, Blondie, Anne Murray, Itzhak Perlman, Melissa Manchester, Rush, Max Webster and many more.
As is true of many record company employees Celeste herself is a performer and she has sung every music genre from traditional choir, folk, to blues, rock, country and Celtic. She has been a guest singer at conferences; youth meetings; penitentiaries; drop-in-centers and in clubs. She is a gospel-recording artist with two cd’s and a country demo, and plays bodhran, congas and other fun percussion instruments with Claddagh a local Celtic band and with her church. She has produced and hosted a bi-weekly program for cable television and for three years sat on the Gospel Music Advisory Committee for the Canadian JUNO Awards.
Celeste is also the Director, Marketing & Communications for the Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness.
